DLA Piper has appointed Mark Whiteside to its UK Transactional Tax practice. He starts on 9 November.
Mark was previously a partner at CMS in Manchester, where he led the firm’s regional transactional tax practice. He brings with him a broad transactional tax skillset covering corporate and real estate tax, including UK and cross border M&A, restructurings, VAT, venture capital structures and employee incentives.
Mark’s practice is well aligned with DLA Piper’s strategic outlook, in particular in supporting the M&A needs of its clients. His appointment will bolster the robust tax support that is required to effectively structure deals, management equity arrangements and manage post-deal activities.
Jason Collins, DLA Piper’s UK Head of Tax, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Mark into the UK Transactional Tax team. His arrival builds on the appointment of Gareth Amdor who joined us from Reed Smith at the start of the year to head up the Transactional Tax team. These appointments significantly enhance the tax support required to structure M&A transactions effectively and to deliver seamlessly for our clients.”
