DLA Piper bolsters Capital Solutions practice with three partner team

DLA Piper has strengthened its Capital Solutions practice with the addition of Partners Jesse Sheff, Seung-Ju Paik, and Preeta Paragash, expanding the firm’s ability to deliver scaled strategic advice across leveraged finance, private credit, strategic capital solutions, syndicated lending, sponsor finance, and fund finance. Their arrival further accelerates the growth of DLA Piper’s Capital Solutions platform.

The group, based in New York, advises and assists private credit providers, investment and commercial banks, asset managers, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers. Between them, the partners have steered hundreds of billions in transactions, including market-defining joint ventures and multi-billion-dollar sponsor and corporate financings throughout the capital stack and investment lifecycle.

The additions represent the latest investment in DLA Piper’s global Capital Solutions platform, a multidisciplinary offering that integrates capabilities in finance, private credit, restructuring, private equity, investment funds, corporate and M&A. Designed to help clients navigate increasingly complex capital structures and liability management, the practice provides seamless advice across the full capital continuum – from origination and deployment through refinancing, restructuring, and exit. Since its launch in March 2026, the platform has added 25 lawyers globally.

“The growth of our Capital Solutions platform reflects a commitment to our clients’ priorities as capital becomes more sophisticated, interconnected and global,” said DLA Piper’s Global Chair Frank Ryan. “Jesse, Seung-Ju and Preeta are outstanding additions to the firm, and their arrival strengthens our ability to advise clients on their most complex financing needs.”

“The lines separating traditional lending, private credit, capital markets, and fund-level financing continue to blur, creating new opportunities and challenges for our clients,” said Matt Schwartz, who co-leads DLA Piper’s US Finance practice. “Jesse, Seung-Ju, and Preeta have built exceptional practices at the intersection of these markets. Their experience enhances our ability to help clients execute complex transactions and access capital across an increasingly interconnected financial ecosystem.”

DLA Piper advises on all aspects of financing, across borders, sectors, and financial products. The firm’s interdisciplinary approach enables it to provide seamless strategic advice across many areas of the law, finding innovative solutions to complex issues and delivering bespoke financing strategies tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
