DLA Piper has advised a group of lenders, including several prominent high-street banking institutions, on financing provided to Fynveur to acquire a majority stake in Mission Mars, the group behind Rudy’s Napoletana and Albert’s Schloss.
The transaction sees Fynveur, an investment holding owned by Artal and advised by Invus, acquire a majority stake in Mission Mars as BGF exits its investment in the business. The new investment will support the continued roll-out of the Rudy’s Napoletana and Albert’s Schloss brands.
Mission Mars currently operates 44 sites across the UK, comprising 40 Rudy’s Napoletana restaurants and four Albert’s Schloss venues. The new investment is intended to support the continued expansion of both brands, with further openings planned. Mission Mars’ existing management team will remain in place and continue to lead the business through its next phase of growth.
A multidisciplinary DLA Piper team worked on the transaction led by Finance partner Charles Weems. He was supported by senior associate Claire Bradshaw, associate Dan Crichton, and solicitor apprentice Natalia Brozek. The wider team also included partner Jonathan Watkins and associate Daniel Dainty (Corporate).
Commenting on the transaction, Charles Weems, said: “Mission Mars has developed two highly distinctive hospitality brands with an expanding national footprint, and this investment provides a platform for the business as it enters its next phase of growth. It was a pleasure to work with the lender group on such a significant transaction for the UK hospitality sector.”
