
Global law firm DLA Piper has advised longstanding client Flower Infrastructure Technologies AB (Flower) on the acquisition of a portfolio of seven Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects with a capacity of 112 MW. The transaction was signed on 30 June 2026.
Flower acquired the project portfolio and the corresponding project rights from project developer Chint Solar, with Chint Solar constructing the projects under an engineering, procurement and construction contract. Chint Solar will also provide further services for the projects under operations and maintenance services agreements while Flower will own, operate, finance, and commercialise the projects.
Flower is a leading provider of an energy trading and optimisation platform and operator of battery energy storage systems (BESS). With an industry-leading AI-powered optimisation platform, Flower, as an operator of large-scale BESS projects, contributes to stabilising the energy system by improving predictability and flexibility for both energy producers and consumers. The newly acquired BESS portfolio represents another significant addition to Flower’s growing BESS portfolio.
A multidisciplinary DLA Piper team led by Corporate partner Dr Philipp Clemens and supported by partners Dr Manuel Indlekofer (Real Estate) and Michael Cieslarczyk (Finance) advised Flower also on this latest deal after having supported Flower on several previous acquisitions of large scale BESS projects.
