DLA Piper advises Arcadia eFuels on landmark eSAF offtake agreement with Uniper

Global law firm DLA Piper has advised Arcadia eFuels Vordingborg ApS on its landmark long-term sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) offtake agreement with Uniper, marking one of the largest long term industrial scale renewable eSAF supply agreements to have been concluded in Europe to date. The agreement will provide the long-term revenue certainty necessary to support the development and financing of Arcadia eFuels’ flagship eSAF plant in Vordingborg, Denmark and puts the company firmly at the forefront of the European eSAF sector.

Under the agreement, Uniper will purchase 40,000 metric tonnes of eSAF annually from the Vordingborg plant which will represent approx 60% of its capacity once operational. The agreement reflects growing momentum behind sustainable aviation fuel projects as Europe seeks to expand domestic production capacity and support the decarbonisation of the aviation sector. Once completed, the Vordingborg plant will produce eSAF using renewable electricity, green hydrogen, and captured CO₂.
