Dentons Link Legal has successfully assisted GMR’s Utility Platform, GMR Smart Electricity Distribution Private Limited in forging a joint venture with Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW) for implementation of smart prepaid meters projects on design, build, finance, own, operate and transfer (DBFOOT) basis for Uttar Pradesh DISCOMs (in the geographical regions of Agra, Varanasi, and Prayagraj) through 3 separate special purpose vehicles (SPVs). The SPVs are expected to deliver approximately 7.5 million smart meters and BGSW will hold 10% stake in the SPVs.
