London—Dentons is pleased to announce that it has advised Pathfinder Clean Energy (PACE Group) on its successful £46 million investment via convertible bonds from Paris-based investment house RGREEN INVEST. This significant investment will accelerate the expansion of PACE’s UK development pipeline and enable the commencement of construction on several pioneering clean energy projects across the UK.
Joe Byron Evans, Partner in Dentons’ Banking and Finance team, commented:
“We are delighted to have supported PACE on this transformative transaction with RGREEN INVEST. The investment marks a substantial step forward for PACE as it continues to lead the way in the UK’s clean energy transition. This transaction will not only support the rapid deployment of solar and energy storage projects, but also contribute materially to the UK government’s net zero objectives. The collaborative approach between the parties was instrumental in reaching a successful outcome, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact these projects will have on the UK’s energy landscape.”
PACE is a clean energy developer and investor with a global pipeline of over 3GW across the UK, Canada, Poland and New Zealand. The investment from RGREEN INVEST, a leading European investor in the energy transition sector, will provide the capital required to accelerate construction activities and further strengthen the UK’s position in renewable energy.
Dentons’ team was led by Joe Byron Evans (Partner, Banking and Finance), with support from Esme Crofton-Ford (Senior Associate, Banking and Finance), Ioannis Saridakis (Associate, Banking and Finance), Jess Harris (Associate, Banking and Finance) and Alysha Bodman (Trainee, Banking and Finance) as well as colleagues across the firm’s energy practices (led by Lucille De Silva, Partner), corporate (led by Michael Snook, Partner) and tax (led by Neil McKnight, Partner).
