Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole CIB, Societe Generale and Standard Chartered Bank, acting as Coordinators, Senior Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners in connection with a portfolio financing for VIRTUS Data Centres, the pure-play data centre developer-operator which is part of the STTGDC Group. The £2.45 billion of committed financing includes £1.2 billion of green capex facility available in both term and revolving tranches.
Debt Finance partner Matt Dunn commented: “We are delighted to have supported VIRTUS Data Centres and its lenders on this landmark refinancing. This transaction reflects the increasing use of long-term flexible portfolio financing terms to replace existing debt and provide capacity to fund the development of new data centres.”
The multi-practice team was led by Debt Finance partner Matt Dunn working closely with senior associate Kuan Yue Lim. The wider team included advice from the firm’s real estate, environment and planning, construction, tax and derivatives groups.
