Clifford Chance advises KKR on US$750m investment in transport electrification and battery storage company Zenobe

International law firm Clifford Chance is advising global investment firm KKR on its c.US$750m investment in Zenobe a global market leader in electrification-as-a-service solutions for fleets, and battery storage solutions for grid network infrastructure. The investment is the first through KKR’s global climate strategy.

The transaction will scale Zenobe across two of the largest decarbonisation market opportunities in infrastructure, transport electrification and battery storage solutions by helping to meet the growing demand for Electric Vehicle adoption from bus operators and other commercial fleet businesses globally. It will also help Zenobe expand its grid-scale battery storage capacity through the construction and expansion of new and existing storage sites.

The multi-practice, cross-office Clifford Chance team was led by partners Charlotte Madden and Thomas Fisher in London and partner Jan-Hendrik Horsmeier in Amsterdam with support from senior associates Joshua Reynolds and Victoria Ho and associates Amelia Bennett, Merel Vermolen and Julian Wuttke.
