Clifford Chance advises Jardine Matheson on acquisition of full ownership of Gammon Construction

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Jardine Matheson (Jardines) on its acquisition of Balfour Beatty’s 50% interest in Gammon Construction for GBP250 million, resulting in Jardines becoming the sole owner of the business. The transaction is the first acquisition for the Jardine Engineering & Infrastructure (JE&I) platform since its establishment earlier this year.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, Gammon Construction is a leading construction and engineering company that delivers major projects across Hong Kong, Singapore and the wider region, including transport, energy and education infrastructure, data centres, grade A office, retail and luxury integrated resorts and residences. Jardines has been an investor in Gammon Construction since 1969, and the company has operated as a 50:50 joint venture between Jardines and Balfour Beatty since 2004.
