Global law firm Clifford Chance is advising Cinven on the acquisition of a majority stake in Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio Group (UAX) from CVC Funds. Cinven has agreed to partner with founder, Jesús Núñez, and Mubadala Investment Company. The management team will also reinvest in UAX.
UAX is a leading education group in Spain known for its strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and practical, career-oriented education.
The team was led by partner Samir Azzouzi, with the support of senior associates Pablo Hernández, Patricia Puertas and Iñigo Navarrete, and associates Enrique Fanego and María Rodrigo, all of them from the Private Capital / M&A team of the Madrid office. The firm’s multidisciplinary team for this transaction also included specialists from other areas including regulatory (Carme Briera), real estate (Gabriel Cabello), competition (Begoña Barrantes and Paula Valenciano) and employment (Jorge Martín-Fernández), ensuring seamless cross-practice execution of the transaction.
