Clifford Chance advises banking syndicate on €1 billion dual-tranche bond issuance by Fresenius

Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A., Barclays Bank Ireland PLC, BNP PARIBAS, Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft and ING Bank N.V. (acting, among other roles, as Documentation Bank) in connection with a successful €1 billion bond offering by Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA (Fresenius). The transaction was carried out under Fresenius’ €15 billion Debt Issuance Programme and comprised the issuance of two euro-denominated bond tranches.

The offering consisted of €500 million notes with a 3.375% coupon due 2031 and €500 million notes with a 3.750% coupon due 2034. The notes have been admitted to trading on the regulated market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

The Clifford Chance team was led by partner Cristina Freudenberger and included transaction lawyers Felicitas Fischer and Lilli Neubauer (all Capital Markets, Frankfurt).
