Global law firm Clifford Chance has advised a fund managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, a part of BlackRock, on the sale of its 187MW operational solar portfolio in Taiwan to J&V Energy Technology Co. Ltd
The portfolio comprises 42 operational solar projects across central and southern Taiwan, with a combined installed capacity of 187MW.
Nadia Kalic, Partner and Global Co-Head of Energy & Resources said: We are proud to have supported BlackRock on this transaction. Having advised on the initial acquisition and ongoing development of this portfolio, it is especially rewarding to see the assets move into their next phase under J&V Energy’s integrated renewables platform.
Nadia Kalic led the team and was supported by senior associate Emily Yung and associates Will Lucas, Chantelle Masters and Patricia Veng. Partner Chad Bochan, counsel Julian Brun and associate Monica Shakeri assisted on the financing aspects of the transaction.
This transaction further demonstrates our continued work advising private capital investors on their energy transition investments across Australia and Asia Pacific, including Five V Capital on its acquisition of a majority stake in Agile Energy, Iberdrola on its acquisition of 242MW Ararat Wind Farm and Photon Energy on the sale of its Yadnarie solar and energy storage project.
