Baker McKenzie Advises VM2 Holdings on its acquisition of Pierre Marcolini Group

Baker McKenzie advised VM2 Holdings, Co., Ltd. (VM2) on the acquisition of Pierre Marcolini Group, Belgium’s world-famous luxury chocolatier.

VM2 is based in Japan and has a strong presence in Asia, in particular through its operations for the Godiva brand in Japan , South Korea, Australia and its factory in Belgium. Meanwhile, Pierre Marcolini Group  pioneered the bean-to-bar movement  by offering original collections of exceptional quality.

The Firm’s team in Tokyo was led by Jean-Denis Marx, a partner in the Corporate/M&A Practice Group assisted by Takashi Osawa and Minako Zai, working in close contact with a team in Brussels led by Dominique Maes, a partner in the Corporate Finance Practice Group, and assisted by Kim Stas and Victor Deprez. Baker McKenzie’s London, Paris, Luxembourg, Hong Kong and Shanghai offices also collaborated in making the deal a success.
