Baker McKenzie acted as lead counsel to the purchaser in the acquisition of a 304-room upscale hotel located on the fringe of Singapore’s Central Business District and Chinatown heritage precinct. The acquisition was completed by a private fund managed by BlackRock and YTL Hotels.
The transaction marks the second hospitality acquisition in Singapore by a private fund managed by BlackRock and YTL in less than 18 months, following their acquisition of the now re-branded Oakwood Premier Raffles Place in May 2025.
The Baker McKenzie team was led by Ting Xiao Hui (Principal), with support from Ong Liang Jun (Local Principal), Willy Wai (Associate), Geraldine Ong (Senior Consultant), Michelle Koh (Senior Associate), Kenneth Chuah (Principal), Vinny Yap (Associate) and Brian Tan (Trainee) in Singapore, and Graeme Dickson (Of Counsel) in Sydney.
The deal is the latest addition to Baker McKenzie’s track record advising on significant real estate M&A transactions in Southeast Asia, which includes IOI Properties Group’s proposed acquisition of Asia Square Tower 2 for approximately USD 1.9 billion.
