Baker McKenzie Advises GLP on up to USD 1.5 Billion Investment from Abu Dhabi Investment Authority

Baker McKenzie acted as lead counsel to GLP Pte. Ltd. (GLP) in connection with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA)’s up to USD 1.5 billion investment in GLP.

As detailed in GLP’s press release, “GLP’s strong financial position will be enhanced by ADIA’s initial capital deployment of USD 500 million, which is expected to accelerate the Group’s mission of creating differentiated, scaled platforms across logistics, digital infrastructure and renewable energy – sectors benefitting from structural tailwinds driven by the expansion of e-commerce, accelerating adoption of AI/cloud technologies, and the global shift towards cleaner, more sustainable energy sources.”

The cross-border, multidisciplinary Baker McKenzie team advising GLP was led by Singapore M&A and Private Equity principals Shirin Tang and Lip Kian Ang, with support from local principal Mark Tay, senior associate Yong Wei Tan and associate Allan Yang.

The deal drew on the strength of Baker McKenzie’s regional transactional practices, including M&A (Singapore), Private Equity (Singapore and Hong Kong), Banking & Finance (Singapore and Hong Kong), and Financial Services Regulatory (Singapore and Hong Kong).

Key Singapore team members include Banking & Finance principal Emmanuel Hadjidakis and local principal Ian Roebuck, and Financial Services Regulatory principal Eunice Tan and associate Zhi Jia Koh.

Key Hong Kong team members include Banking & Finance partners Kenneth Ching and Gerry Wong* and associates Elizabeth Hau and Suki Ng, Private Equity and Funds partner Jason Ng, special counsel Hayley Irons* and senior associates Jojo Ha and Agnes Yeung, and Financial Services partner Grace Fung and senior associate Erin Cao*.

This transaction underscores Baker McKenzie’s ability to mobilize top-tier lawyers across jurisdictions and practices to deliver outstanding results for clients.
