Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer advised Air France-KLM on the establishment of a new €1 billion multi-purpose syndicated credit facility with a syndicate of twelve international banking institutions.
This credit facility, which can be drawn upon and repaid at the Group’s discretion, has an initial maturity set for June 2028, with an option to extend it by one year to June 2029.
This transaction is part of Air France-KLM’s financing strategy and strengthens its financial flexibility by supplementing its existing liquidity resources and diversifying its funding sources. The funds will notably be used to refinance certain existing financial instruments and to support the Group’s external growth projects, subject to applicable closing conditions.
The legal aspects of this transaction were covered by Claire Coquard within the legal department of Air France-KLM, accompanied by the team from Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer with Louis de Longeaux (Partner) and Dylan Shields (lawyer).
