We publish press releases from law firms, in-house legal teams, legal tech companies, ALSPs, and law schools when they are newsworthy and well-written.
Below is what we accept, what we do not, what it costs, and how to submit.
What We Publish
- Lateral partner moves (we are picky here, see below)
- New office openings
- M&A deal announcements where you advised
- Significant litigation wins or settlements (subject to client privilege of course)
- Major hires and leadership changes
- New practice launches
- Awards and rankings recognition
- Partnership and alliance announcements
- Pro bono and CSR initiatives with substance
What We Don’t Publish
- Generic firm “anniversary” pieces with no news
- Routine speaking engagement announcements
- Pure SEO content with no actual news
- Re-issued or back-dated press releases (if it is a month old, it is not news)
- Anything we cannot independently verify
Free vs Paid
Free editorial submission: Submit through the email. Our editors review every submission. If it is genuinely newsworthy, we will publish it. Average response time is 5 working days. We reject roughly 70% of free submissions because they do not meet our editorial bar. No appeals, no reasons given for declines.
Paid press release: $250 per release. Guaranteed publication within 24 hours subject to editorial review for accuracy and tone. Includes one editor’s pass for clarity, one SEO optimization pass, social distribution on LinkedIn, and inclusion in our weekly newsletter where editorially relevant.
Publisher Plan members: Press releases are included in your annual subscription. No per-release charge. See Publisher Plans.
Submission Guidelines
- Length: 350-700 words ideal. Anything longer should be a sponsored article instead.
- Format: Plain text or Word document. No PDFs.
- Headline: Lead with the news. “Firm A advises Client B on $200M acquisition” beats “Firm A continues commitment to clients.”
- Lede: Get to the point in the first 30 words. Who, what, when, where, why.
- Quotes: At least one quote from a named partner or senior leader. Quotes from “spokespersons” are fine but less impactful.
- Logo and image: 1200x630px minimum, transparent background preferred for logos.
- Contact: Include a press contact name, email, and phone for our team to reach if we have questions.
