Sidley has been shortlisted for “International Firm of the Year” at the Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2026 Awards. In addition, Tai-Heng Cheng has been named a finalist for “International Lawyer of the Year.”
Sidley is one of the few international law firms to have maintained on-the-ground capabilities to serve clients in Asia Pacific for over 40 years. The firm now has over 130 legal professionals based in five offices in the region—Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. Our lawyers provide U.S., Hong Kong, English, Singapore, and Japanese law advice to clients where and when they need it.
Tai-Heng Cheng is a U.S. trial lawyer, international arbitration practitioner, and legal advisor to C-suites, boards, and governments. He is among very few international arbitration practitioners who are equally well-regarded in Asia, Europe, and the U.S. He is recognized globally for his roles as arbitrator, counsel, and in award enforcement. Tai formerly served as co-leader of Sidley’s Global Arbitration, Trade and Advocacy practice and co-managing partner of Sidley’s Singapore office.
The Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific Awards “celebrate the leading litigators and most impactful disputes across Asia-Pacific.” Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony to be held in Beijing on July 2, 2026.
