Sidley Represents Warner Music Group in US$1.2 Billion Joint Venture With Bain Capital

Sidley represented Warner Music Group (WMG), the global music entertainment company, as co-counsel with Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, in connection with the formation of a joint venture with Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm. The joint venture will allow for the purchase of up to US$1.2 billion of legendary music catalogs across both recorded music and music publishing.

This strategic partnership combines WMG’s industry expertise with Bain Capital’s financial acumen to create a significant platform for investment in seasoned music assets.

The Sidley team was led by partner and Entertainment, Sports, and Media (ESM) co-chair Matthew Thompson, partner Luke Ashworth (ESM/Private Equity), and senior managing associate Felipe Ruiz Ricagni (ESM/M&A) and included associates Lauren Dunn and Antonio Gutierrez (M&A).
