It was the third and the last tranche of the retail assets sold to EPP, the largest owner of retail real estate in Poland in terms of GLA. The value of the transaction was EUR 106 mln and the total leasable area of the properties amounts to 110,000 sqm. It has been the highest volume retail transaction on the Polish market since a year.

Chariot is a group managed by Griffin Real Estate. The current portfolio of the company includes M1 Marki shopping centre and 12 hypermarkets, with a total gross leasable area of about 230,000 sqm. In 2018, the company as a joint venture between Griffin Real Estate, PIMCO, Oaktree and Redefine acquired 28 shopping centres Chariot then sold a part of the portfolio to EPP. The deal value amounted to ca. EUR 1 billion and was the third largest deal in 2018 globally and Linklaters was one of the advisors.

Transaction was led by Tomasz Trystuła, managing associate from Linklaters Warsaw real estate practice, supported by Żaneta Bałdowska (senior associate) and Małgorzata Szafrańska-Strankowska (associate). The transaction was supervised by Janusz Dzianachowski, partner.
