Clifford Chance has advised Belgian investment firm Cofinimmo on the acquisition of four healthcare sites in Germany. All assets are currently in operation and managed by three renowned operators in Germany – Novent, Korian and InCura.
The healthcare sites are located in Nienburg, Lower Saxony, Bad Dürrheim and Pforzheim, both Baden-Württemberg, and in Lindenfels, Hessen. Together they offer a surface area of approximately 31,000 square metres and 547 beds or assisted-living units. The sites of Bad Dürrheim, Lindenfels and Nienburg are located in residential areas and surrounded by a green environment, while the site of Pforzheim is well located in the city centre, in a mixed use area.
In 2020, Clifford Chance had already advised Cofinimmo on a EUR 250 million investment in eight care home projects in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Clifford Chance team advising Cofinimmo on the recent acquisition comprised partner Fabian Böhm, senior associate Tatjana Bougargour and senior transaction lawyer Elmostafa Habib (all Real Estate, Frankfurt) as well as partner Dominik Engl and transaction lawyer Leonie Gebauer (both Tax, Frankfurt).
