With all that has been reported as yet, there seems a need to take a rather critical overview of the inconsistent investigation that is carried out by the police or any other authority, when it comes to a case, which is hyped to a great extent.
May it be the investigation in the Pradyuman case or the Arushi murder case or this case, it can often be construed that the police authorities always seem to take a grab of the most convenient option that they get. The fact that the case of Ms. Jiah Khan was very easily termed as a suicide, even though there were many evidences indicating of the contrary, was sufficient even for a very naked eye can spot the laziness of the executive authorities when it comes to bringing the case to an end.
As reported earlier by us in Part 1 of the Coverage here at:
PART 1: JIAH KHAN’S “INCONSISTENT” FORENSIC REPORT TURNING ‘HOMICIDE’ TO ‘SUICIDE’
And it is not just that these authorities are the only ones who are at fault but it is the entire system that fails the common man. This can easily be observed by the missing dupatta which was a substantial evidence to prove the cause of death of the deceased victim. Further, a report that made a 4ft wall, measure 6 feet and which turns a blind eye to the fingerprint on the fan, from which the victim was found hanging, can only be stated to the a mockery that is made out of the pain and the suffering of the families of the victim.

PART 3: EVIDENCES & CIRCUMSTANCES THAT SPEAK IT WASN’T SUICIDE
Section 2 (wa) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, defines the term “victim” as “a person who has suffered any loss or injury caused by reason of the act or omission for which the accused person has been charged and the expression “victim” includes his or her guardian or legal heir”
Therefore, it can be observed that even the statute considers the families as the victim of the crime. However, taking into account the inaction of the authorities in making real endeavors in reaching to the truth, it seems as if they have taken a view that, such inconsistent investigations would not bring any harm onto any person.
It has to be further noticed that the presence of the aforementioned evidences along with many others were present in the plain sight of the investigating officer sand of the CBI officials, however, it took two foreign forensic specialists, to acknowledge them and to question their presence or absence and to actually question the inaction of the authorities.
PART 2: JIAH’S ‘STATE OF MIND’ BEFORE THE ALLEGED SUICIDE & SOORAJ LETTERS
May it be the laziness in investigating a complicated case, or the convenience of the most apparent option it is high time that our beloved officers actually praise the oath that is taken by them while joining their duties and not to just close the cases merely for closing them. It has to be noted that even though there may be enormous amounts of Jiah Khans, for the Police authorities, there was only one such person, for the family of the victim and this family now lives in pain and strives for justice.
