DLA Piper advises global sports tech leader, Catapult, on IMPECT GmbH acquisition

DLA Piper has advised Catapult Sports Ltd, a global leader in sports technology and performance analytics, on the acquisition of IMPECT GmbH, a Germany-based specialist in football scouting analytics and creator of the proprietary Packing™ metric. This acquisition forms a key part of Catapult’s long-term strategy to enhance its all-in-one technology platform by integrating differentiated scouting capabilities.

IMPECT’s acquisition expands Catapult’s offering to over 4,600 elite teams by embedding the German business’ advanced scouting analytics into its global performance and video platform. Founded in 2014 in Germany, IMPECT is known for its proprietary Packing™ metric that provides a unique perspective on games, helping teams and federations generate deeper insights into player performance. The company supports professional football clubs and federations in over 25 countries and has established itself as a key player in data-driven scouting and match analysis.
