Linklaters has advised Helexia, a leading energy transition and energy efficiency services provider, on the financial close of a major portfolio of self-consumption solar projects in Poland. The transaction involves the limited-recourse financing of 24 solar rooftop installations across Auchan Retail Poland stores, as part of a partnership between Helexia and Auchan Retail launched in 2024. The project is financed through facilities arranged for Helexia by Crédit Agricole Transitions & Energies (CA TE), with the support of its affiliates Crédit Agricole Bank Polska S.A. and LCL.
With a total investment of €27 million, the new portfolio will deliver a combined installed capacity of 26 megawatts and is expected to generate an estimated 24.6 gigawatt hours of clean electricity annually.
The electricity produced will cover the energy requirements of the participating stores’, advancing Auchan Retail Poland’s decarbonisation ambitions.
The Linklaters team was led by Samuel Bordeleau, Partner, with Soraya Salem, Counsel, and Marie Kooli, associate, in Energy & Infrastructure. The team also included Cyril Boussion, Partner in Tax Law.
Addleshaw Goddard Warsaw advised on Polish law aspects.
Linklaters previously advised Helexia earlier this year on the financing of a portfolio comprising 240 projects across five European countries.
