Latham & Watkins Advises ArcLight in Acquisition of 160 MW Wind Farm in Texas

ArcLight Capital Partners (ArcLight) announced that it has acquired a 160 MW operating wind farm located in the Midland Basin in Texas that reached commercial operations in 2020. The acquisition is in connection with ArcLight’s launch of a renewables investment initiative, SkyVest Renewables, formed by ArcLight to operate and optimize acquired assets, build on ArcLight’s deep history in renewables since 2001, and bring together an experienced and tenured team to provide transformational management and operational best practices for ArcLight’s investments in wind and solar infrastructure.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented ArcLight on the wind farm acquisition with a corporate deal team led by New York partners David Allinson and Jane Greyf, with associates Thomas Engelhardt, Junhan Zhang, and Samyung Han. Advice was also provided on project finance matters by New York partners Warren Lilien and Cameron Lyons, with associate Victoria Gross; on tax matters by New York partner Eli Katz and Bay Area partner Katharine Moir, with associate Andrea Herman; on environmental matters by Washington, D.C. partner James Barrett and Los Angeles/Houston partner Joshua Marnitz, with associate Reilly Nelson; on real estate matters by Chicago counsel Jeffrey Anderson and New York counsel Karen Ritter, with associate David Rao; on executive compensation matters by Washington, D.C. partner Adam Kestenbaum; on antitrust matters by Washington, D.C. partner Farrell Malone and Washington, D.C. counsel Britton Davis; on UCC matters by New York partners Larry Safran and Brian Rock; on litigation matters by Chicago partner Johanna Spellman; and on insurance matters by Los Angeles partner Harrison White, with associate Dylan Shamoon.
