Amsterdam, 8 January 2024 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce Victor de Vlaam, as the new Office Managing Partner for the firm’s Amsterdam operations, effective 1 January 2024.

Victor currently heads up the Corporate/M&A and Private Equity group at Hogan Lovells in the Netherlands. He joined Hogan Lovells as a partner in 2007 and advises large and medium-sized clients in the financial institutions, insurance, technology, semi-conductor, life sciences, and industrial sectors, on M&A and private equity transactions in the Netherlands and across Europe, US and Asia.

Victor succeeds partner Manon Cordewener whose term has come to an end. She will continue at the firm to further expand the Amsterdam Litigation practice. In addition, Manon will also continue to support legal technology initiatives, working closely with the firm’s legal tech brand ELTEMATE to bolster the firm’s digital transformation efforts.

Hogan Lovells Regional Managing Partner for EMEA, José M. Balañá said: “I would like to thank Manon for her tremendous contribution over the past years and to congratulate Victor on his new appointment.

“Victor brings a magnificent amount of experience, client focus and vision to the role. As a seasoned Corporate/M&A partner and key legal advisor to some of our largest clients, he is well positioned to drive the continued growth and success of our office and to lead and expand our service offering to our clients in the region and globally”

Victor added: “I am excited to assume this role and to further grow – together with our teams of excellent professionals – our offering to our clients and advise them on market leading transactions and groundbreaking disputes in the Netherlands and globally. Our firm has gone from strength-to-strength during recent years, firing on all engines on both the transactional side (M&A, finance, capital markets, tax, notarial services, financial regulatory, real estate) and the non-transactional side of our business (IP, disputes, regulatory, data privacy and cyber security, employment & benefits and life sciences). We see that our clients in the Netherlands and beyond, appreciate the market leading combination of high quality advice and a superior client experience. Above all, I am inspired by the confidence that Hogan Lovells, as one of the world’s largest and successful transatlantic law firms, wasn’t built by individuals – it was born from team spirit.“
