Boston, 6 September 2022 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce the arrival of partner Chris Natkanski to the Global Regulatory & Intellectual Property, Media, and Technology (IPMT) practice group in Hogan Lovells’ Boston office.

Over more than 20 years, Natkanski has built a practice focusing on intellectual property and technology transactions, including licensing, collaborations and other strategic transactions, M&A support, and key research, development, supply, marketing, and other commercial relationships. He advises clients across the high-tech, investment management, consumer products, and life sciences sectors, including areas where the technology and life sciences sectors overlap, such digital therapeutics and other digital health matters.

Celine Crowson, who leads the firm’s IPMT practice in the Americas, said: “We are very happy to welcome Chris to the firm. With his strong transactional and corporate background, Chris will be a great resource to our clients, particularly those operating in the health tech, fintech, and life sciences sectors.”

Maria Durant, Boston Office Managing Partner, added: “Chris joins a growing IP team in Boston, home to global leaders in technology and life sciences, elite research institutions, and world-class medical facilities. We are happy to welcome Chris as our partner during this exciting period of growth in the Boston office.”

Natkanski will be a member of the Hogan Lovells’ IP & Technology Transactions team, and will also work closely with the firm’s Technology & Telecoms industry sector.

“I am thrilled to be joining Hogan Lovells, which is globally recognized for its strengths in IP, life sciences, and technology. There is terrific energy here in the Boston office, which has expanded in recent years, and I am very happy to be part of the team.” Natkanski added: “The global reach, industry and regulatory expertise, and fully-integrated IP and M&A teams at Hogan Lovells offer a unique and powerful combination that truly benefits clients, particularly in the tech and life sciences industries.”

Natkanski joins from Foley Hoag. Previously, Natkanski was at Ropes & Gray and also spent two years in-house at Harvard University’s Office of Technology Development, advising on technology out-licensing and corporate sponsored research relationships and acting as a resource for general intellectual property-related inquiries. He is also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), with experience prosecuting patent applications in areas of software, business methods, and mechanical inventions.

Natkanski earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and holds an AB in Physics from Harvard University.
