Global law firm Hogan Lovells served as counsel to the International Cricket Council (ICC) in planning for the historic Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
As the global governing body for cricket, the ICC governs and administers the game and works with its members to grow visibility and popularity of the sport across the globe. The ICC is also responsible for the staging of all of its events.
Matches are currently being played in New York, Texas, and Florida and across six islands in the West Indies through the end of June. The T20 World Cup marks a historic moment for the sport as it’s the first time the U.S. has ever hosted an ICC World Cup event.
Hogan Lovells also advised USA Cricket in winning the rights to co-host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
“It’s extremely exciting being part of the group who helped plan and execute this massive event in the U.S. for the first time,” said Hogan Lovells partner Michael Kuh. “Seeing how many American sports fans are coming out to stadiums to watch cricket is amazing to see and a huge step for the overall visibility and future growth of the sport.”
The Hogan Lovells team was led by partners Michael Kuh and Mark Weinstein (both New York), Siobhan Rausch (Washington, D.C.), senior associate Elizabeth Adams (Washington, D.C.), and associate Danielle Litwak (New York).
