Latham & Watkins has advised Adani Green Energy RG1 on the issuance of US$409 million 6.7% Senior Secured Notes due 2042. The proceeds of the notes will be utilized in accordance with the ECB Guidelines to redeem the US$500 million 6.25% Senior Secured Notes issued on June 10, 2019. The notes, which were seven times oversubscribed, will bear interest at the rate of 6.7% per annum of the principal amount of the notes.
The Latham team was led by Singapore partners Rajiv Gupta and Timothy Hia and counsel Jeremy Wang, with associates Ming Wei Loo and Bijun Huang. Advice was also provided on English law matters by Riyadh partner Edward Kempson; on US tax matters by New York partner Jiyeon Lee-Lim with associate Shangpu (Nicholas) Sun; and on Investment Company Act of 1940 matters by Boston counsel Joel Cavanaugh.
