Weil is advising Astorg and its portfolio company Hamilton Thorne in their acquisition of FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific’s Medical Media Business (MBU). The transaction follows Astorg’s recent take-private of Hamilton Thorne and simultaneous acquisition of Cook Medical’s Reproductive Health business, resulting in a newly combined global leader in assisted reproductive technology (ART).

FUJIFILM Irvine Scientific MBU provides products including culture and vitrification media for in-vitro fertilization, infertility research and cytogenetic analysis. Astorg is now bringing the three businesses together creating a new global leading ART MedTech company with a new brand identity for the combined businesses being rolled out this year.

The Weil team is led by U.S. Private Equity Co-Head Ramona Nee and Private Equity partner Emily Willey and includes Private Equity associates Ryan McCarthy, Lydia Cuddeback and Erin Richard; Paris Private Equity partner Pierre-Alexandre Kahn and associate Anais Roudel; Technology & IP Transactions partner Dennis Adams and associates Amanda DeMasi, Taylor Peterson and Brendan McNerney; U.S. Privacy & Cybersecurity Head Olivia Greer and associates David Merck and Adeline Park; Regulatory Transactions partners John O’Loughlin and Timothy Welch and associates Christina Carone and Francisco Vélez; Environmental partner Matthew Morton; U.S. Antitrust Co-Head Brianne Kucerik and associate Savannah Logan; Employment partner Peter Mee and associate Paige Mickel; Executive Compensation & Benefits partner Jennifer Britz and associate Amanda Nowak; Tax partners Noah Beck and Benjamin Pique and associates Kyle Jackson and Guillaume Wulfowicz; and Real Estate attorney Leslie Smith and associate Ilana Bier.
