Gender Studies/School of Human Studies & School of Law, Governance & Citizenship, Ambedkar University, Delhi invite you to the Panel Discussion on Triple Talaq Judgement: Critical Perspectives.
The recently delivered judgment of the Supreme Court on the issue of triple talaq is significant and has far-reaching implications not only for Muslim women and their rights within family law, but also for the larger discourse on all family laws vis-Ă -vis constitutionally guaranteed fundamental rights, namely right to equality and non-discrimination, and freedom of religion.
The panel discussion will be aimed at understanding the contents of the judgment and its reasoning, its ramifications on women’s rights within Muslim family law and on the effort to bring about gender-just reforms in all family laws, situated within the current political context.
