Sidley is advising Fleming Insurance Holdings, a portfolio company of Sidley private equity client Altamont Capital Partners, in its strategic US$277 million acquisition of JRG Reinsurance Company (JRG Re). JRG Re is the third-party casualty reinsurance business of publicly traded, Bermuda-based insurance holding company James River. Fleming is an innovative provider of capital solutions to property and casualty insurers globally, and a reinsurance market leader.

This transformational acquisition “marks a significant milestone in our journey, positioning us for even greater success and growth,” according to Fleming CEO Eric Haller, and represents Sidley’s leadership in advising private equity-backed, insurance industry innovators in their most significant cross-border transactions.

The Sidley team is led by Tony Ribaudo, Aaron Rigby, Ryan Scofield, and John Grothaus (all Private Equity and Insurance), and includes Jennifer Chae, Nicole Mouzakiotis (both Insurance), Hannah Marshall, Jon Litsey, Adrienn Portnoy (all M&A), Ram Burshtine, Dan Philion, Marc Weinstein, John Jiang (all Global Finance), Scott Pollock, Lee Christie, Nathan Enfield (all Tax), Eileen Liu, Amanda Casanueva (both Employee Benefits), Cathryn Le Regulski (Labor and Employment), Stephen McInerney, Carly Owens (both Privacy and Cybersecurity), Lauren Grau, and Zach Johnston (both Technology Transactions).
