Sidley represented Chess.com, the world’s leading online chess platform, in a high-profile multiyear partnership agreement with the Esports World Cup Foundation, the organizer of the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC). EWC, an affiliate of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, is the world’s largest esports and gaming event and the world’s premier online-gaming tournament. The partnership, announced by Chess.com and world-ranked #1 player GM Magnus Carlsen, brings competitive online chess to the EWC, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next summer. The event will feature a tie-in with the 2025 Champions Chess Tour (CCT) and a US$1.5 million prize pool, showcasing the game’s global appeal and strategic depth to millions of esports fans and gamers.
