Dykema announced the addition of Sam Royko as a Senior Counsel in its Business Litigation Practice Group resident in the firm’s Chicago office. Royko joins Dykema after serving as Founder and Managing Partner of The Royko Group, LLC and Partner at L&G Law Group, LLP.
Royko has experience representing clients in a variety of legal matters, including complex commercial litigation, class actions, securities, employment litigation, contracts, entertainment law, commercial transactions, and civil rights matters. Throughout his legal career, he has also served as outside general counsel and provided risk management guidance to clients. Royko has represented individuals and corporations in state and federal court, arbitration, and mediation.
Royko is also uniquely qualified to work in cases involving complex public relations. He has prior experience in public relations and government solutions from his time at Brownstein Hyatt Farber and Schreck and as an associate at Kurth Lampe Worldwide. He has also served as counsel in a number of high-profile cases nationally and in the Chicagoland area. Additionally, Royko gained extraordinary experience in government solutions, public affairs, and public relations when he was a candidate for Alderman in Chicago’s 1st Ward. He still works to support the needs of 1st Ward residents in the West Town, Wicker Park, and Logan Square area.
Royko has counseled clients in a wide variety of industries, including but not limited to: financial services, hospitality, food and beverage, sports, entertainment, employment unions, health and fitness, and real estate. He has advocated fiercely for individuals, large corporations, and everything in between to help clients meet their goals.

Royko earned a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. in Political Science with Minors in Chinese Studies and Philosophy from DePaul University.
