Union Minister for Law and Social Justice D V Sadananda Gowda has favoured former chief minister and MP B S Yeddyurappa for the post of president of the Karnataka unit of BJP.
This comes in the wake of Yeddyurappa being cleared in a majority of the land de-notification cases registered against him. At present, Prahlad Joshi heads the BJP in Karnataka. But he lacks the charisma of a mass leader and there has been a demand within the BJP to replace him.
“Yeddyurappa is the most eligible leader to lead the BJP in Karnataka. He was responsible for the growth of the BJP in the state. As a CM, he was highly effective. He is the right candidate for the party president’s post in Karnataka,” Gowda added.
