On 12th July 2022 Mr. Sudhir Mishra, Door Tenant at No5 Barristers’ Chambers, United Kingdom, Founder & Managing Partner of Trust Legal and a noted Environment Lawyer received the first ever Guardians of Sustainability Award for the year 2022 at the curtain raiser of The Canvas – World’s First student SDG accelerator initiative at the House of the Lords.
The Guardians of Sustainability award recognizes leaders, institutions and agencies who have not only made an overwhelming contribution to United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals but are living its core values in thought, word, and deed in every aspect of their life to make this world a sustainable world for the generations to come.
Mr. Sudhir Mishra’s unwavering commitment to Environment, Climate change and sustainability over the past two decades and most importantly his immense contribution towards saving the tigers, wetlands, coastal zones, national parks, and in particular the efforts of Trust Legal under his able leadership in commissioning the first ever Sustainable Development Report 2021 (SDR 2021) for O.P. Jindal Global University (OPJGU) in partnership with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is applaudable.
In a battle against air pollution, Mr. Sudhir Mishra had voluntarily filed a Writ Petition in the year 2015 before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi titled as “Sudhir Mishra vs. Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ors in W.P. (C) 2115 of 2015” in order to curb the rise of air pollution in the Delhi/NCR region due to multiple inter-state and intra-state environmental factors which is still active.
He has personally conducted more than 325 workshops in 300 protected areas across the country in the last 20 years and has also appeared in more than 65 litigations concerning environmental issues before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, High Courts, National Green Tribunals, the Central Empowered Committee of Supreme Court and Statutory Pollution Control Boards.
Mr. Sudhir Mishra is also presently the Chairperson of the Environment and Climate Change Committee of the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF).
