School of Law, IMS Unison University is going to organize the National Seminar on “Third Gender Rights: Emerging Trends & Issues”.

About the Theme:
Transgender people or individuals of any age or sex whose appearance, personal characteristics or behaviour differs from stereo types as to how men and women are “supposed” to be. Transgender people have existed in every culture, race & class since the dawn of society that nomenclature “transgender” is the invention of this modern world.
In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court categorically has laid down that “hijras” or transgender constitute “third gender” neither male nor female having their own valid entitlement for all human rights like all other human beings relieving them from their dilemma of what to mention in the gender column of any application i.e. whether male or female as they are neither male nor female.
The Supreme Court has observed that the third gender cannot be discriminated against with respect to equal opportunities in education, employment and other spheres that their claim must be considered at par with male and female.

| Author/s | Name, address, e-mail and contact number of all authors, size 12, in Times New Roman font format. |
| Abstract | Between 300 – 350 words, Times New Roman, size 12. |
| Keywords | Should not contain more than five keywords. |
| Title / Sub Title | Written in bold, size 12 and left margin. |
| Tables / Figures | Title of the tables / figure should be written on the top of the tables / figure. Times New Roman, font 12, Bold and centered margin. |
| Footnoting | Footnoting should be done strictly according to Bluebook 19th Edition, Times New Roman, size 10, Line-Spacing 1. |
| Word Limit | Articles should be generally of 4000 – 4500 words (excluding references and footnotes). |
The participants are requested to send their abstracts & papers to Ms. Shalini Saxena at shalini.saxena@iuu.ac and at dean.sol@iuu.ac. The best three research papers will be published in Pragyaan: Journal of Law, double blind peer reviewed journal published by School of Law.
