The Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research (CALSAR) at Kerala Law Academy Law College is going to organize a National Seminar on “Law of Forensic Science: The Art of Decoding Crime”.

Call for Papers:
The organizers of the Seminar call upon law students, academicians, lawyers, policy makers, and officials from various institutions; NGOs, social activists, social science researchers and faculty and research scholars of relevant disciplines to present their well researched papers at the seminar on the following themes.

• Forensic Examination of Fraudulent Documents:
  • Scope and Meaning of Questionable Documents and Disputed Fingerprints
  • Identification of Handwriting, Signatures and Forgery
  • Role of Latest Scientific Instruments in Forensic Document Examination
  • Legal Aspects

• Autopsy: Medico-Legal Aspects
  • Sudden Death: Causes and Medico-Legal Aspects
  • Medico-Legal Aspects of injuries in case of Dowry Deaths
  • Poison and their Medico-Legal Aspects

• Admissibility of DNA Evidence
  • DNA Profiling Technique
  • Case Study

• Recent Advances in Forensic Sciences
  • The Polygraph (Lie Detector)
  • Blood Spattering Analysis
  • Constitutional Issues and Legal Aspects

Submission Guidelines:

• Kindly confine yourself to the above themes identified for the Seminar. The papers may be in Times New Roman, font 12 size, in A4 format, single line spacing, not exceeding 3000 words including footnotes.
• The papers shall be screened by a committee. The full papers to maximum of 40 approved by the committee shall be accepted for presentation in the seminar. The intimation of selection will be made through email.
• The final paper should contain a cover page which includes name, designation, relevant discipline and year of study, address, email id and contact number.
• Papers should be written in English, and the working language of the seminar will be English and presentations shall be done in English.
• Co-authorship is permitted, subject to a limit of maximum two authors per submission. Submission should be made by the author who will attend the seminar. For papers having more than one author shall pay his registration fee.
• Only one paper per participant will be permitted. Multiple submissions will lead to disqualification.
• No part of the paper should have been published earlier nor should it be under consideration for publication. Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.

Registration Fee:
There will be a registration fee of Rs. 1000/- for each participants as well as selected paper presenters. The registration fee need only be paid at time of registration on the date of the seminar, i.e., 29th July, 2016 at 8 A.M.
