The Department of Economics, St Berchmans College, Changanassery, is organising a UGC -Sponsored National Seminar on Fiscal Austerity and Economic Development: The Case of India on 9th and 10th of September, 2015. The seminar will debate critically on the fiscal policy of India in the post- reform period and will bring out concrete policy suggestions. We invite research papers from academicians, research scholars and policy makers on the following sub-themes.
1. Austerity vs. fiscal stimulus: Exposition of the debate on theoretical and empirical grounds
2. Fiscal-monetary policy nexus
3. Public expenditure management in India
4. Dynamics of debt accumulation in India
5. FRBM Act: Impact and implications
6. Recent tax reformsāGST,DTC
7. Fiscal issues in a federal structure: Implications of 14th Finance Commission
8. State finance with special reference to Kerala
All those who wish to submit papers for the seminar should send a soft copy of the full paper and an abstract (300 words) to the following e-mail: depteconomicssbc@gmail.com The subject of the mail must be āNational Seminar on Fiscal Austerity and Economic Developmentā. Papers should be in PDF/Word format and written in English. They should contain the title, author information (including affiliation, mailing address, and telephone); and an abstract with the keywords. The deadline for submission of full paper is August 24, 2015. All the papers submitted for the seminar will be peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content, correctness, relevance to the conference and readability. Acceptance of the papers will be communicated by the end of August 2015. All accepted papers will be published in the seminar proceedings. Selected papers will be published as an edited book.
