Legal Marketing seems like an easy job, all you have to do is build the right content and work on the search engine optimization. It appears to be simple but its not. There are numerous rookie mistakes one always makes. Here is a list of few things to avoid:

  • Long Meta Description

The text beneath a title in the search results is called a meta description which gives a brief about the article or blog or piece of content. They will be striked off by search engines if they are too long. Check the number of characters in the description with a word counter.  You can also use tools like SERPsimulator to understand how your meta description along with the page title will appear when searched for.

  • Too Many Keywords

This is a futile practice, used by many under the assumption that many keywords equal to best results. It may look like good idea but it is not. Today’s search engines focus on user experience. An experience becomes bad if there are too many keywords or using them in a way that feels burdensome or inorganic. Utilize your Google Analytics data and other tools to conduct thorough keyword research.

  • Loading Time

Your website and each landing page should load as fast as possible. It creates a major impact on user experience directly leading to the rankings. There could be various reason for pages to load slowly like insufficient plugins, large images, server errors, etc.

  • Usage of Just Stock Images

Stock images are go to for every website in every industry but it can also make your website look like just any other website. There are limited resources when it comes to goo stock images therefore, one should always mix up the stock images with real ones.

  • Wrong Contact Information

Potential clients always look for a way to contact the lawyer or the law firm. Having the right information on the website is necessary. Include the phone numbers, email ids, social media handles, etc.
