Mayer Brown advises Boeing on strategic transactions in connection with Spirit AeroSystems acquisition

Mayer Brown represented The Boeing Company (Boeing) in a series of completed M&A transactions in connection with Boeing’s acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems (Spirit). These M&A transactions include advising Boeing on Spirit’s divestiture to Airbus SE and its affiliates (Airbus) of certain businesses tied to various Airbus contracts, advising Boeing on Spirit’s divestiture to Tex Tech Industries, Inc., a portfolio company of Arlington Capital Partners, of Fiber Materials Inc., an industry leader in high-temperature materials and reinforced composites, and advising Boeing on Spirit’s divestiture to Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of DRB-Hicom Bhd, of Spirit AeroSystems Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a supplier of components for Airbus’ A220, A320 and A350 aircraft and for Boeing’s 737 and 787 models.

The team was led by M&A partners Jason Quintana and Magnus Karlberg in the firm’s Chicago and Northern California offices with support from M&A associates Thomas Wu, Alexander Dussault and Kimberly Ayudant in the firm’s Northern California and New York offices.[1]
