Linklaters has advised Linde, a leading global industrial gases and engineering company on the formation of a strategic joint venture with Sahara International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem), a leading Saudi chemical company.
The joint venture will be active in the production, distribution and supply of industrial gases from existing and future production facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via pipeline. The joint venture shall push ahead with the expansion of the pipeline network and production facilities in the Kingdom in order to meet the continuing increase in demand for industrial gases from the chemical and refining industry.
The contracts were signed on 15 December 2020. The transaction is subject to usual reservations, in particular the approval of the competent merger control authorities.
