Linklaters has advised Elia Group on its firm agreement to acquire a 35.1% stake in energyRe Giga Projects (“energyRe Giga”), a subsidiary of energyRe LLC — an independent U.S. energy company solving complex sustainability challenges and delivering large scale clean energy solutions.
Elia Group will deploy $400 million over three years into energyRe Giga and the proceeds will be fully committed to fund project development in the U.S. electricity transmission and renewable energy generation space. The partnership with energyRe Giga is part of Elia Group’s growth strategy to expand its activities outside of Europe and strengthen the development of sustainable energy solutions.
