Linklaters advised Abraj Energy Services SAOG, Oman’s largest provider of onshore drilling services, on its recent IPO. Linklaters also advised several entities within the OQ group, subsidiaries of the Oman Investment Authority, as selling shareholders in the transaction.
The IPO, Oman’s largest since 2010, is part of the Omani government’s recently announced asset divestment framework, with Abraj being the first asset to be taken public under the framework. The IPO saw strong demand, with the offering price set at the top of the price range and the institutional and retail tranches being more than 21 times and eight times over-subscribed, respectively.
Linklaters’ team was led by partner and global co-head of the Firm’s Equities practice, Jason Manketo, together with managing associate Scott James and associate Lara Townzen.
