Latham & Watkins Advises TPG in Investment in Palmetto

Palmetto, a leading technology enabled clean energy platform, has announced that it has raised US$150 million to continue spurring the adoption of clean energy and access to residential solar across the United States. The investment was provided by TPG Rise Climate, the dedicated climate investing strategy of TPG’s global impact investing platform TPG Rise. Additional terms of the investment were not disclosed.

Latham & Watkins LLP represented TPG in the transaction with a private equity M&A deal team led by Boston/Chicago partner Ian Bushner, Boston partner John Miller, and Boston/Chicago partner Neal J. Reenan, with associates Jake Wasserman, Matthew Sieben, and Jack DeMeulenaere. Advice was also provided on tax matters by Bay Area partner Katharine Moir, with associate Alexander Farris; on intellectual property matters by associate Lyle Stewart; on data privacy matters by Bay Area partner Robert Blamires, with associate Kathryn Parsons-Reponte; on ESG matters by Washington, D.C. partner James Barrett, with associate Jacqueline Zhang; on benefits, compensation, and labor matters by New York partner Jennifer Pepin, with associates Samantha Voutyras and Laura Waller; on anti-bribery and anti-corruption matters by Washington, D.C. partner Joseph Bargnesi, with associate Ragad Alfaraidy; on antitrust and competition matters by Bay Area partner Kelly Fayne, with Washington, D.C. counsel Peter Todaro; on project finance matters by Washington, D.C. partner Paul Hunt, with associate James Jang-Hyun Lim; on energy regulatory matters by Washington, D.C. partner Tyler Brown; and on debt matters by Washington, D.C. partner Manu Gayatrinath and Los Angeles partner Nathan Whitaker.
