IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A., EURONEXT), a world leader in particle accelerator technology and a world leading provider of proton therapy solutions for the treatment of cancer, has announced it has signed a total system restoration contract with Massachusetts General Hospital, which was IBA’s first-ever proton therapy installation. The total value of the contract is between US$80 and US$100 million.

Latham & Watkins LLP advised Massachusetts General Hospital in the transaction with a healthcare and life sciences team led by Washington, D.C. partner Jason B. Caron, with associates Yanyan Zhou, Chad Leiper, and Danny Machado. Advice was also provided on FDA regulatory matters by Washington, D.C. partner Ben Haas; and on data and technology transaction matters by Bay Area partner Tony Klein, with associate Debbie Hinck.
