Latham & Watkins advised Infraestructura Energética Nova, S.A.B. de C.V. (IEnova), the largest private-sector energy company in Mexico, in obtaining a 15-year financing with the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), for up to US$241 million. The project underscores the positive role of private investment in the Mexican energy and power markets. Members of Latham’s Latin America Practice advised IEnova in the transaction with a team led by Project Development & Finance partner Sony Ben-Moshe and counsel Luis Torres, with associates Sarah Cunningham and Evan Pelz, international visiting associate Daniel Gallo, and Capital Markets partner Roderick Branch also participating in the transactions.
This is the fourth green loan facility Latham has advised IEnova on, including the recent transactions with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, the North American Development Bank and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and showcases the firm’s leadership in sustainable finance.
