Latham & Watkins has advised Searchlight Capital Partners, a transatlantic private investment firm, on its minority investment in Synergy Marine Group, a leading global ship manager and provider of end-to-end maritime solutions that is headquartered in Singapore and operates through a global network of over 25 offices across 13 countries.

This strategic partnership alongside founder Captain Rajesh Unni aims to further create incremental value for Synergy’s clients and contribute towards the continued development of the global maritime ecosystem through applying Searchlight’s strong track record of rigorous transformation and operational excellence execution to a market leading platform and stand-out competitor in the shipping industry.

The Latham team was led by corporate partners Amy Beckingham and Richard Watkins, together with associates Michael Ning, Cherine Teh and Yiheng Luo, supported by corporate partner Andrea Schwartzman. Advice was also provided on debt finance matters by finance partner Andrew Bishop and associate Jonathan Feng; on tax matters by partners Matthew Dewi and Karl Mah, and associates Richard Liu and Aoife McCabe; on compliance and sanctions matters by partner Kaede Toh and associates Evangeline Tsui and Matthew Gregory; and on antitrust, FDI & competition matters by partner Ian Conner, counsel Jana Dammann and associates Alvaro LĂłpez, Giuditta Caldini, and Helena Hofmann.
