Protect Medical was set up in 2019 by Borromin Capital Fund IV to acquire companies active in the manufacturing, trading and distribution of first aid, wound care, and EMS products. Besides Promeba, other subsidiaries of Protect Medical are W.Söhngen GmbH (Taunusstein, Germany) and Spencer Italia S.r.l. (Sala Baganza, Italy); the goal is to build a European full-service provider for first aid and rescue products.

The acquisition of Promeba expands Protect Medical’s business activities geographically as well as its product range and customer base. It will also strengthen its market position and provide additional production capacities to meet the increasing demand for products from the EMS sector.
